Carmen Anderson, MS, CCC, SLP
Carmen holds a Clinical Certificate of Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and is a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). Blending her clinical expertise and reimbursement knowledge with durable medical equipment (DME) industry insight, Carmen offers strategic guidance to clients through Anderson Consulting Services. Her hands-on clinical experience provides her with an understanding of the challenges patients face and the intricacies of delivering effective care. Carmen has engaged with insurance companies nationwide to provide education, facilitate product coverage, affect positive changes in medical policies and secure new contracts.
Since 2023, Carmen has partnered with the U.S. Medical Compression Alliance (USMCA) to support the implementation of the Lymphedema Treatment Act. This effort involved advocating with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and their contractors to promote coding, coverage and reimbursement for lymphedema compression products.
In addition to her efforts with USMCA, Carmen has worked with various medical device companies, offering tailored support for their reimbursement, education and advocacy needs.
Carmen began her career providing patient care in elementary schools and skilled nursing facilities. In this role, she interacted with insurance companies daily to secure approvals for patients to receive coverage for therapy. She then served as director of payer relations and operations for a medical device manufacturer.
Today, Carmen’s unique perspective and passion for bridging the gap between health care providers, payers, patients and the industry powers her drives to foster quality interactions and outcomes for all stakeholders.
